District Level Training cum Workshop on Forest Rights Act 2006
The District Administration, in collaboration with Pragati Koraput, conducted a District level Training cum Workshop entitled, “Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition) of Forest Rights Act 2006” on 20 June 2010. The Training cum Workshop was held in the DNK Conference Hall in Koraput.
A highlight of the event was the launching of the Oriya-language publication, "Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006 and Rule 2007, and Circulars Issued by the Government". Mr. Y.Giri Rao of Vasundhara, Bhubaneswar, was the resource speaker on the Forest Rights Act implementation issues and challenges.
The event was graced by the Koraput District Collector, Sri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil. Koraput and Jeypore government officials, civil society representatives and district federation leaders participated in the training cum workshop.
