We started our journey on 26th January 1992 with a vision to improve the quality of life of tribal people and underpriviledged sections of society living in remote pockets of Koraput district in Odisha. The tribal people, due to their isolation and lack of awareness, have been cut off from the mainstream of society and deprived of the basic amenities of life.
We plan activities based on analysis of the socio-economic and political contexts of the area and community dynamics, with emphasis on community empowerment. Our programmes seek equitable, peaceful, productive and inclusive relationships within communities, protection of the environment and a culture of participation to influence and shape their lives. Our programmes are unique, involving Community Based Organizations in project planning, implementation, monitoring and management.
We liaise with Panchayati Raj and Government line departments. We network with local, state and national NGOs and people’s organisations. The process we set up in one remote Panchayat has consistently grown over the years in its outreach and spectrum of activities.

To build such a self-reliant society, free from hunger and exploitation, where everyone irrespective of caste, creed, sex and language have right to dignified means of livelihood and through collective action ensure socio-economic justice and ecological balance.

To facilitate and strengthen vibrant people’s organizations at different levels of society that will protect, utilize, control and manage local resources and through collective action, ensure dynamic socio-economic change for sustainable development by advocating for pro-poor governance and bring women, children, tribals and downtrodden, to the mainstream of the society.
